For Bible Study

Delve deeper into the Scriptures’ and explore their relevance to our lives. The group meets via ZOOM on Thursdays at 10:00am. We will be studying John 19 in the July 31st meeting.
In our July 24th session, we reviewed the familiar Easter verses in John 18.

For Book Group

Engage in meaningful discussions about interesting, current books of our choice with other avid readers. The next ZOOM meeting is Thursday, August 20th at 6:30pm. This meeting marks the 5 year anniversary for the group. Our 60th book is “Under the Tulip Tree” by Michelle Shocklee.
On July 23rd the group reviewed the book “The Jane Austen Society” by Natalie Jenner. The book received an overall “thumbs-up” even though a few had not read any Jane Austen books. The story was based on the village, Chawton, and family home, Chawton House, where Jane Austin lived and wrote her books. The characters of the story bonded over their individual love for her writing and the community they shared, and ultimately dreamed up, funded and built the Jane Austin Society.

For Discovery Class

Join us Sundays at 9:30am in the Women’s Lounge for discussion on important topics that deepen your relationship with the Lord and the understanding of His word. The setting is casual and you are free to ask questions or observe. Beginning in June, our discussion will focus on “Defining Moments” both in God’s Word and in the personal experiences of the group. On August 3rd, we will be discovering Daniel’s defining moments.
On July 27th we discussed the story of Joshua. We identified several defining moments: when he takes over after Moses dies in Chapter 1, when he made a oath with the Gibeonites without speaking with God first in Chapter 9, when he gives the final directive in Chapters 23-24 to the people before he dies and states they should chose whom they will serve, but for him and his house, they will serve the Lord God.
