our church is involved in, including:

CROP Hunger Walk
CROP Hunger walks give you an opportunity to connect with our community in a meaningful way and to think about those who must walk for water, food and medical care. When you walk, give, and raise funds through CROP Hunger Walk, you are saving lives. 25% of what we raise stays in the Cass County Food Pantry’s.
The theme for this year was revealed in the July 14th meeting. “Chicken, Beans and Big Dreams”. Check their website for more information on the efforts to focus on bean crops that grow in drought conditions and provide healthy food solutions. Look for the wearing of “beanies” and some other creative “bean” references. The CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, October 5th at 2:00pm on the track at the Cass County Council of Aging. Registration starts at 1:30pm.

Hero Haul
22 Years ago, Jerry and Pat Tavernier began the Hero Haul Program as a way to provide personal care items for the Veterans that are served by the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, MI and in South Bend, IN at the Veterans Homeless Center. For the past 12 years, the Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church has joined the effort by sponsoring the cause. This joint effort along with the Edwardsburg community, has made it a very successful non-profit event.

Edwardsburg Food Pantry
We helped create, and are proud supporters of the Edwardsburg Food Pantry. The motto for the pantry is “Helping our Friends, with their most basic needs.” The pantry gives out food, and also helps with emergency utility bills and gas vouchers. Additionally, they supply the weekend food program for Edwardsburg school children.

The Mobile Food Pantry will be visiting Edwardsburg on Tuesday, August 12th from 3:00pm – 4:00pm at Hope UMC. If you can help, please see the sign up sheet in the back of the sanctuary, or contact us below. Plan to arrive at 2:30pm.
Giving Tree
We hang gently used clothing in a Maple tree in the courtyard on the north side of the building for people who need it. Open 24 hours a day/7 days a week. We celebrated the 6 year anniversary of the Giving Tree in June 2025. As of June 2025, we have provided over 37,000 clothing items to the community.

Caring Cupboard
As a resource for the community, the Caring Cupboard was established two years ago to provide non-perishable food items, during times when the Food Pantry is not open. The team replenishes items in the Cupboard throughout the week and on weekends. The Cupboard is located in the church yard adjacent to the Giving Tree.

USDA Foods (Formerly Commodity Days)
On the second Tuesday of the month from 9:30am – 10:00am, we give out food boxes to Seniors 60 years old and over. Seniors must sign up for the program and meet certain financial requirements. Please contact the church for more information.
The next giveaway will be Tuesday, August 12th from 9:30am – 10:00am.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” – Matthew 28:19
