The Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast was a huge success again this year. The event raised over $3,500.00 with more coming in. A great big thank you to those (and there were MANY) who helped make the Hero Haul Fundraiser and Pancake Breakfast a success! Without all of the volunteers we could not have gotten it done. See you again next year!

All monetary proceeds and donations of personal care items go to the Hero Haul Program

Jerry and Pat Tavernier (now in their late 80’s) began the Hero Haul Program 23 years ago a way to provide personal care items for Veterans in need that visit the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, Mi and the Veterans Homeless Center in South Bend, IN. For the past 13 years, the Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church has joined the effort by sponsoring this cause. This joint effort, along with the Edwardsburg, MI community, has made it a very successful non-profit event. In 2025, combining items donated and monetary donations (which also included drives at all three Circle Federal Credit Union branches in Cassopolis, Edwardsburg and Niles, MI) we were able to deliver over $11,207.00 in Retail Value items. This was, of course, made possible by some strategic bargain shopping throughout the year.
Current list of personal care items requested by the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, MI for 2026 are shown below. If you would like to purchase items listed, pleased drop them off on Memorial Day or if you prefer to make a monetary donation, we can do the shopping for you. Either way please stop by and say “Hello” before the parade at the Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church. Thank you for your continued support.
